It’s my birthday today, and the long suffering Lady Elph made things all offical by buying me a lordship. I now own a square foot of Scotland! I’m a real lord, I’ve got a certificate and everything. Oh yes.
My little parcel of land is up near Fort William, which is an area I’ve wanted to visit for some time, so I can’t wait to get up there and stand on my turf. I’ll leave a cache there too hopefully, probably called “Get Off My Land”
Fon are giving away 10,000 of their wifi-sharing routers. 2500 are available to UK residents.
Well, at least 2499 anyway. I just ordered mine.
Which is nice.
A number of people have emailed or left comments frustrated by the speed of pastebin. Over the past few months I’ve spent the odd ten minutes here and there tweaking it in the face of ever-increasing load. It’s clear the software just isn’t up to the task anymore, which was particularly evidenced by a recent slashdotting.
Over the next few days I’m rewriting the internals to be much faster, and hopefully release it over the weekend.
