The metadesign of Geograph

Mike Leggett has been sharing his musings on Geograph and it’s interesting to read an outside analysis of the phenomenon. I only came across it today even though Technorati keeps a watchful eye on Geograph related blog posts for me. Seems it’s been mentioned in the forums and the observer has become the observed!

Interesting reading!

P.S. For the record Mike, the “LordElph” moniker is explained in my about page 🙂

I’m glad you respond positively oh omniscient one – indeed if I’d followed the links properly, I would have been able to find the source of your tag…. apologies!
Yes, the comments are very much musings at this stage, rather than analysis – but a ‘specialist’ in the notion of metadesign has proposed the two of us write a paper about Geograph, so we’ll keep you posted on that – hopefully that will turn the musings into something a little more rational.
I’ve got a heavy work schedule on for the rest of this year but intend to take a more active part in the forums after that…. but from this distance it’s more difficult to contribute anything else but ‘pictures from the (my) past’ – which I will continue to do.
Oh, and thanks a lot Paul. Geograph is one of the most imaginative open source outcomes I’ve come across thus far….
