@Christopher P, I really don't understand _your_ point.

Have you used Google Maps at all? Have you read and understood the article?

Personally I'd have been inclined to tell the complainers to wake up and get a life. I think the article is a very balanced and considered response which rather demolishes the arguments being made by the complainers.

It's the geolocation element which has led it to being branded a "thieves shopping list", so I fail to see how I've missed the point.

You have missed the point completely - the MAIN problem is the publishing of the Grid Reference with the photograph of the Horse - in our case of a featureless field of no geographical merit

Hi! We have 7 horses and thieves have been operating around our home in Cornwall.

Apparently the thieves target coloured horses and, all of ours are coloured.

Luckily none have been stolen!

Thankyou for the article.

A very well researched and well balanced article.Not many bodies would take the time even to respond to some of the ridiculous, sensationalist posts that have appeared on the Horse and Hound forum. As a horse owner I support Geograph in it's aims.

Any horse owner with common sense, a firm grasp of reality, and with some knowledge of statistics regarding horse theft would support Geograph.Or at least be objective about the site.

I sincerely hope this is the end of this episode.I have been embarrassed to be associated with the sensationist journalism and associated responses on a certain equestrian website.

Best wishes Geograph
